Elmo car sharing is a remote-controlled shared car service delivered to your door. Through an app, you order the shared car, which is then driven to your location by a specially trained and certified remote driver. You unlock the car using the app and then drive away. When you are done, the car is remotely driven back to a parking spot (or shared mobility hub).
The remote driver has received special training for this purpose and can get a good look at the situation via cameras. The shared car is already allowed in several EU countries. In the Netherlands, the car has been tested at the Future Mobility Park. Approval in the Netherlands is being handled together with insurer Aon and the RDW.
